Holy Delicious Peanut Butter Bars

There is only one word to describe these bars. Wow. Oh yeah-and they taste just like a reeses peanut butter bar.

How to make your own Reeses Peanut Butter Cup

Mix: 1 stick of butter, 1/2 C Peanut butter, 1 C powdered sugar and 1 C graham cracker crumbs.
It will look like this!
Pour into an ungreased 8x8" pan
Spread out with a bamboo spoon, like mine! You can also use your fingers, or whatever else you can find.
Let your husband taste it. This is mine. Doesn't he look excited!
Melt 3/4 C Chocolate chips and 2 Tbsp Peanut butter
Yum. Sorry about the blurry pic, I'm still learning!
Pour over top and cool in the fridge for an hour.

My life

I've noticed lately that there is not one single post that tells you anything about me, except that I like to cook. Well today that's going to change! This post is alll about me. Me, me, me. And....surprise! There will be pictures! How exciting for you, you
lucky readers!
This is me, and My husband, Mike. We were on our way to the state fair!
This is not me. This is Mena Suvari. I've been told that I look like her...a lot.
This is me, when I was 37 weeks pregnant. I was also very tired.
And this sweet boy came at 41 weeks!
This is our first baby, who is almost 2 years old already!
That's a little about me. I would add more things, but I'm having trouble with this today...maybe this blog is not used to any pictures, and it just need some time re-adjust! I will try to throw more things in about my everyday life as we go...but for next week, I have a post about how to save money on your grocery bill. Stay tuned!

Yes, I know that this is titled "Breanne's food blog", but don't be surprised if I start throwing in little pieces of my daily life every once in awhile... :O)

Freezer Mashed Potatoes

Oh my, these are so good.

Freezer Mashed Potatoes

5 Lbs Potatoes
1 egg
garlic powder
3T Butter
salt
8 oz Cream Cheese

Peel and cook potatoes, and then mash them. Combine potatoes with the rest of the ingredients. Pour into ziplock bags (You can really use whatever containers you want, these were just a good fit in our freezer!), and freeze.
When you're ready to eat them, thaw them in the refrigerator, and pour into a greased 9X13" pan. Do not be alarmed if they come out looking very, very runny, the egg will help thicken them up! Bake at 375 degrees for about 40-50 minutes.
**Variations:
Add melted butter on top, before baking
Put some cheese on top for the last few minutes, just until it melts
Mix in some chives, or green onions
Pretty much do whatever you want!**
Enjoy!

So what do you think of the new look? I'm trying to learn more about blogging, and taking pictures...and so far so good! I've learned that all I need to do is to type "How to...." and google will tell me! Anyway, onto what's been happening around here...
*Mike and I have given up sugar. And bread. And really anything that we really, REALLY crave. This means cookies, cakes, candy, sugar, sugar and sugar for me...and any type of bread or pasta for Mike.

Why are we doing this, you ask?
My goal is to stop craving sweets. I really love any baked good that I can get my hands on, and have ZERO self control! That, and the thought of my little mister eating everything that I eat, really made me want to change my eating habits.

How long will this last?
That is the question that I've been asking myself allll day for the past three days! Really, it's as long as we feel the need to do it. For a starting point, we agreed on a week. If we're feeling good from there, then we will continue.

What are we eating?
We are eating lots and lots of fruit and vegetables, meat, and some brown rice. I will be sharing some of the recipes that we'll be eating throughout the month, within the next few days (I really do remember that I need to go back to the last post, and give a few recipes there too!)

So! That's what's going on...you will probably be seeing more updates in the next few days, and for sure more pictures...when I figure out how to delete some pictures from our memory card! :)
